Jo Sellwood Taylor

Non-Executive Director

Having built several successful businesses, Jo Sellwood Taylor brings an entrepreneurial flair to the team due to her track record of successful business leadership. She is well versed in all areas of organisation transformation due to her ability to build relationships but has a special talent for executive search.

As a successful senior leader in commercial and charitable organisations Jo has experienced many of the challenges leaders face.

She can share stories of her learning in her work as a facilitator, coach and consultant. Jo works in a creative and pragmatic way with individuals, executive teams, and across the whole organisation. She blends 21st century thinking and learning approaches with real-life work issues, bringing learning to life through visible, practical application.

Jo has more than 20 years’ experience in executive search and co-founded international board-level executive and non-executive search firm Mullwood Partnership in 2012. She has recruited nationally and internationally at senior executive and board levels across all functional areas. Throughout her extensive career, Jo has successfully provided in depth expertise and insight in appointing senior and board level HR leaders and non-executive directors for clients who include Kellogg’s, Lloyds Banking Group, Toronto Dominion Bank, BAE Systems, GB Group, Dyson, Community Integrated Care, Co-operative Group, Virgin, Molson Coors, 3G, General Electric, Astra Zeneca, Royal Mail, Mothercare, British Airways, eBay and Premier Farnell.

Before co-founding Strategi Executive Search in 2000, Jo held board positions with recruitment solutions company TMP Hudson Global Resources, HW Group and recruitment consultancy the Daniels Bates Partnership. At age 30, she became an MD with both divisional and geographic responsibility, reporting to a European chief executive. In this role, Jo had board level involvement with the takeover of HW Group Plc by TMP and subsequent merger activity with acquisitions.

Jo has  extensive senior/board level network in the UK and internationally and as such has  provided subject matter expertise and articles for publications such as Harvard Business Review, The Times, The Sunday Times, the Mail on Sunday, The Daily Telegraph, Executive Grapevine, Insider, Real Business and is a regular contributor for articles published by the Criticaleye Global Community. I was nominated for Business Woman of the Year 2008 and is a regular speaker at board level events.

As a catalyst for change Jo has a passion and curiosity for the different ways people respond to what’s happening around them, and how people lead and interact with each other when they face change. The art of having great conversations sits at the heart of her work – conversations people have with themselves; the teams and communities they belong to; and the organisations they lead. By changing the way we talk and what we talk about, we can change organisations.
